I wanted to continue on the subject of skin brushing from last week and explain the proper way to do it. To review last week’s tip click here.
We should always start skin brushing at the bottom of the feet and brush in an upward motion towards the neck. Use a pressure that is comfortable and not too hard. Begin on one side and gently move around the entire foot then continue up the leg on the front, back and sides. Once you reach the top of one thigh, begin on the other foot and follow the same pattern and pressure. After both legs are done, continue with the hips, buttocks, belly and back, always moving upward. Once you’ve reached the neck, start at the fingers of one hand, moving up the arm and shoulder. Repeat the same process on the other arm. Make sure to include the arm pit area where there is a high concentration of lymph nodes and toxins to be released. Lastly, work on the face. I typically do this in a circular pattern.
Once you begin this practice, you will just love the feeling on your skin!
