I had a great conversation recently about the term “pharmaceutical grade” that inspired me to share about this topic.
Pharmaceutical grade is a term used to describe the quantity and quality of a supplement. In theory this is a great thing; the reality is that there is no regulating body testing the quality and quantity of these supplements initially or on an ongoing basis. In fact, all quality control is strictly voluntary. Unfortunately, it’s just a marketing title to sell more product and anyone can use this term on their goods. Instead, consider if the product is derived from a whole food versus synthetic; look at the label to see if there are several fillers, additives and/or preservatives and look for organic which will have more nutrients and less toxins.
