If You’re Starting To Feel Sick

This week I have had many people tell me that they were starting to feel sick. Here are 4 different ways to prevent colds and flu’s from knocking you down during these cooler days.

Most people are deficient in vitamin D, so if you don’t use Vitamin D daily this is a great option for strengthening the immune system. Take 50,000 IU for 2 days in a row. Sometimes it will only take 1 dose to get rid of the symptoms, and potential infection.

If you’re not already taking heavy doses of vitamin A, another option is 40,000 IU of Vitamin A for 2 days only. Vitamin A and Vitamin D are both fat-soluble, which means they accumulate in the body, so you only want to take these for 2 days at the high dose.

Thanks to Linus Pauling’s research, Vitamin C has always been known as a powerful anti-oxidant and has an ability to particularly fight viruses. Since vitamin C is water-soluble, the excess is eliminated quickly, so it’s best to use a low-dose frequently; Consider using 500-1,000 mg every 2 hours.

Lastly another great supplement and favorite of mine is using a homeopathic called Oscillococcinum. You’ll find it in the health food store where other homeopathics are located. It often comes in a 3-pack or 6-pack. Pour the entire contents of 1 container under the tongue, let them dissolve and repeat every 6 hours until better.

These 4 remedies have all served to keep me and those around me to remain illness-free over the years. The key is to take the supplement immediately when you feel something “coming on”, so having all of these items on-hand may save you and your family from a lot of miserable days this season.
